Yakima FatCat

I researched quite a few rack options for my 2008 Toyota Sequoia and narrowed down to the Yakima Fat cat 6 based on it’s low profile to avoid any clearance options since the Sequoia is already a monster. I’m an avid boarder, and I must say that this is the best purchase of the the season. It only took 3 days to arrive by mail, and all items/pieces were accounted for. The directions are too simple to follow. Installation took at most 45 min simply because i was not pressed for time. The included Universal mounts fit my factory cross bars perfectly and provided enough binding clearance when facing boards down. I was able to fit 4 wide snowboards (base to base 2 facing up and 2 facing down)with room left on each end of the rack. Closing of the rack fully loaded is very easy, I was able to close without any amount of strength beyond firm pressure(no need to put muscle into it). The locks turn easily and the keys are big enough to hold with gloves on. Overall The racks look great, the strength hold of your equipment while in the racks is very firm (not moving anywhere)and my vehicle didn’t seem to ride any differently while traveling an average of 75MPH during a 2hr ride to the mountain. If you are looking to upgrade your current racks or making a first time purchase in the ski rack department I highly recommend these racks from Yakima. Very Satisfied Customer.
